Whale Tail 2
Description:
A male Humpback Whale, thrashing the surface of the water with his tail, taken off the coast of Queensland, Australia. This whale was one of two escorts of a female who was probably pregnant, and was making an aggressive display of power presumably in the attempt to intimidate the photographer. This impressive display was accomplished by sticking his tail out of the water and thrashing it vigorously, sending up huge clouds of spray.
