Wallpaper, Desktop Pictures: Instructions for Using our Pictures as Wallpaper
In Windows:
The easiest way to use a picture as wallpaper in Windows is to simply use the "set as wallpaper" option in your browser.
- Choose the resolution you want (it should match your screen resolution if possible). There are buttons for each available resolution below the picture.
- The picture will appear at the resolution you have chosen. Wait for it to finish loading.
- Right-click on the picture. A menu will appear. From that menu, choose "set as wallpaper." That's all there is to it.
In Mac OS X:
- Choose the resolution you want (it should match your screen resolution if possible). There are buttons for each available resolution below the picture.
- The picture will appear at the resolution you have chosen. Wait for it to finish loading.
- Choose "save as" from the file menu. Save the file wherever you like, renaming it if you wish.
- Either control-click on your desktop and choose "change desktop background", or open the system preferences from the apple menu or your dock and choose "desktop and screensaver."
- From the list on the left side of the control panel, click on "choose folder." Then locate the folder where you saved the picture.
- The pictures in that folder will appear on the right. Click on the picture you want to use. You can also rotate among pictures in the same folder by selecting the "change picture" tick box at the bottom.
In Older Versions of Mac OS:
- Choose the resolution you want (it should match your screen resolution if possible). There are buttons for each available resolution below the picture.
- The picture will appear at the resolution you have chosen. Wait for it to finish loading.
- Choose "save as" from the file menu. Save the file wherever you like, renaming it if you wish.
- Select "control panels, appearance" from the apple menu. Click the "desktop" tab.
- Click the "Place Picture" button, (if you have already set your wallpaper, you'll need to "Remove Picture" first) and select the file you just saved from the "Choose A File" dialog box. Click on the "Choose" button.
- Click the "set desktop" button.
In Linux:
If you're using Linux and you don't know how to set your wallpaper, or at least how to find out for yourself, you may as well give up now.
