These photos of this magnificent animal were taken in the Albuquerque zoo. This tiger is shown in dappled sunlight, which shows off the beautiful pattern of black stripes on the orange coat. We have pics of this great cat in several positions, lying down, standing, in profile and facing the camera. The last two, as well as all of the next page, were taken in the Australia Zoo Tiger Show.
Sadly, tigers are endangered and are badly in need of protection to avoid extinction of the remaining species. For more information on their plight, see Tigers in Crisis. The WWF has made some progress with the preservation of the Amur Tiger, but much more needs to be done if these awesome animals are to continue to survive.
