Rattlesnake
DownloadDescription:
A rattlesnake coiled in a crack beneath a rock in the desert in Death Valley California. The head of the snake is clearly visible, looking out suspiciously at the camera, and the rattle can be seen as well, shaking its warning to the photographer not to come any closer.
Python On Deck
DownloadDescription:
A carpet python slithering across a wooden deck in Queesland Australia. This harmless constrictor was in the process of being shooed out of the house, having been found sleeping in the living room (see last photo). Seen from behind, the snake is moving toward the top right corner of the pic.
Python In Grass 1
DownloadDescription:
A carpet python slithering through the grass on Wolvi Mountain in Queensland Australia. This constrictor is relatively harmless, living on small animals and birds. Its bite is not venomous. This beautiful snake was perhaps 5 feet long, and was originally found living in the eaves under the roof of a house.
Python On Hoe
DownloadDescription: A carpet python being removed from a house in Queesland Australia. In this phase of the removal process, the python was picked up gently using a hoe and deposited in the bushes next to the deck. Seen here coiled around the head of the hoe, its body curved in a tight s-shape, the markings on the back of this lovely snake can be seen clearly. It should be noted that this harmless constrictor was not hurt in any way, and was later found to be alive and well living in the eaves under the roof.
Python In Grass 2
DownloadDescription:
A carpet python moving through short grass on Wolvi Mountain in Queensland Australia. In this photo the snake is seen moving to the right with its body in a curved wave-like shape. The tan and brown stripes on its back are clearly visible. This non-venomous constrictor is quite common in Queensland.
Python In Living Room
DownloadDescription: A carpet python coiled on a wooden shelf in a living room in Queensland Australia. This was the first time we encountered this beautiful snake (and it caused quite a bit of consternation!). The snake was gently removed from the house, and was later found to be living in the eaves under the roof. Presumably it had come down into the house in search of a warm place to sleep. This snake is relatively harmless, though it is still a little alarming to find a 5-foot python coiled in your entertainment center!
Python In Grass Closeup
DownloadDescription: A closeup shot of the head of a carpet python in the grass on Wolvi Mountain in Queensland Australia. In this photo the head, mouth, right eye and nostril of the snake are clearly visible as it slithers through the grass.
Python In Grass Closeup 2
DownloadDescription:
A closeup view of a carpet python slithering through the grass on Wolvi Mountain in Queensland Australia. In this photo the snake is seen slightly from behind, its body curved as it slithers toward the upper right corner of the photo. Lit from above and to the left by bright sunlight, the markings on the back of the serpent can be plainly seen.
