The tail of a Humpback Whale, taken off the coast of Queensland, Australia. This whale was frolicking, waving its tail above the surface of the water. The tail is seen from the underside, showing the white markings on the lower surface. Barnacles encrust the tips of the tail fins, and water sprays off the edges of the tail as the whale slaps the water.
