Description:
Several turtles sunbathing on partly submerged logs in a pond in the Rio Grande nature preserve in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a wide view in which all of the turtles in the group can be seen. On the left side of the photo a single turtle sits on a log raised up out of the water in an arc, with its shell facing the camera. On the right side of the pic, two turtles sit on a log barely sticking out of the water, one turtle leaning on the other. In the center are three turtles on another log, and behind them are two more. In the background the trees on the bank can be seen reflected in the surface of the pond.
