Description:
The mouth and gill outlet slits of a leopard ray, photographed at Underwater World in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia. Seen from directly below, only the white underside of the ray can be seen, centering on the slit of the ray's mouth. The way that the snout of the ray blends into its side fins makes it look as though it has its mouth on its stomach, though in a sense all that is being shown in this photo is the underside of the rays head.
