Description:
A brown lizard scurrying under a shrub in Death Valley California. The head of this lizard has nearly disappeared into the bush, but its back is clearly visible. It has light brown scales with dark gray stripes, especially on the tail. It is surrounded and partially obscured by bleached dry twigs. This lizard was seen on the edge of the rock formation in the middle of the "racetrack," a dry lakebed in Death Valley.
