Black Slug

Black Slug

Description:

A black slug amoung the leaves on the forest floor, seen from above. Only the top part of the slug's body is visible, the tail is buried in the leaves. It has a wrinkled patch on its back, furrowed with deep ridges. The upper portion of its back is rough and shiny. Its eye stalks are partly extended, and it is turning its head down toward the bottom of the photo. Of course, slugs are mollusks, not insects, but we don't have a mollusk pictures category yet. In Northern Sweden. Submitted by Rickard Olsson, used by permission.
