Description:
The batfish is a large flat fish with a silver body, yellow fins tipped with black, and dark brown vertical stripes near the head. In this photo, taken at Underwater World in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia, the batfish is seen from the side facing toward the left. It has broad dorsal and lower fins which extend all the way back to the tail, and a short triangular tail, also yellow with a black tip.
