A balck and white striped African Wild Dog (Lycaon pictus) standing among dried grass and logs in it's enclosure at the Denver Zoo. Also known as the Painted Hunting Dog, the Spotted Dog, the Painted Wolf, Wildehond (Afrikaans) or Mbwa mwitu (Swahili), this mammal looks very similar to hyenas, but is actually in a completely different genus.
